Why Proxies?

Twitter tracks IP addresses. If multiple bot accounts log in from the same IP, they may get flagged. Proxies give each account a unique IP address.
Good news: GenX provides system proxies by default. You only need to add your own if you’re scaling beyond what the built-in proxies support.

System Proxies

GenX comes with pre-configured system proxies that are shared across the platform. These work automatically — no setup required. System proxies are used for:
  • Bot account login
  • Tweet posting
  • Profile fetching

Adding Custom Proxies

  1. Go to the proxy management section
  2. Click + Add Proxy
  3. Enter the proxy address in this format:
http://username:password@host:port
  1. Click Test to verify the connection
  2. If alive, assign it to specific accounts

Proxy Formats Supported

http://user:pass@host:port
socks5://user:pass@host:port
host:port:user:pass

Testing Proxies

Click Test on any proxy to verify it works. GenX checks:
  • HTTP connectivity (via httpbin.org)
  • Response time
  • IP address
Status updates to:
  • Active (green) — working
  • Dead (red) — not reachable

Best Practices

  • Use residential proxies for best results (datacenter IPs get flagged faster)
  • Assign one proxy per account for maximum safety
  • Test regularly — proxies can go down without notice
  • Use proxies geographically close to your target audience
